This evening we enjoyed sitting out in our camping chairs as the cool air settled in the fields and the new winged insects of summer hatched for the first time. It was a beautiful cool evening after a warm day, and it was so nice to sit there all together as a family, chat and watch the goats munch on the ever growing weeds. We also discovered strawberries growing along our driveway, for the first time today, and thankfully they are out of reach of our Browsers!
In the heat of the day today, we went down the hill to Walmart and started preparing for our Family Reunion trip for Scott's side of the family, this year. In preparing, Scott and I found a "one minute, set-up tent", with enough room to stand and have two queen sized mattresses fit too. We're planning to rough it a bit with camping for a day in the woods after the family reunion, and also have reservations for a "city camping" location (my first camping trip in Utah was a bit traumatizing as a teen, so Scott really doesn't want to push his/our luck!). I'm excited to "Rough it" as a family and camp in the dirt with some fire pit food and fishing for a day. :) The family reunion is for but a day, but it will be very exciting to see family again and have George and Emilie continue to strengthen family ties and connections with our family members. I think we'll have a splendid time this year, and we're all amped up for it! The goats, chickens and our dog will be fine, since my mom and maybe my Aunt will be house sitting for us. I hope they have as much fun as us as we go on our small getaway trip! We're excited!!!
