George has really taken to them too, and Emilie is unbiased as they come up to nibble on her blanket or sleeve. Our dog Lucky, is another story though! Kimmie just doesn't trust him (and rightly so, since he chased her yesterday), and today she had enough of him following so close. Kimmie did a quick turn and butted him right in the side, and got a snap and a chase in return. Sadly, Lucky is no longer aloud in the coral and in return gives them barks at the fence's edge. Well, they had a smooth introduction from the fence at first, but after we let him with them,, they whole nonchalance Lucky had reversed. Kimmie really did't like him from the beginning though and was butting him through the fence. Oh well, lesson learned, instincts go beyond logic for animals.
Tomorrow we will be getting two more goats as well (we learned today!). Other friend's from church are selling their two Nigerian boys (both three months old). We're super excited to have two little cuties join our new goat herd. I'm a bit worried about introducing the two brother bucks (we're getting the neutered soon), two our two sibling Boer's, but we're going to supervise them all day tomorrow Memorial Day and see how they do. The main goal is to keep them safe. On the other hand, they need to establish their ranks in the herd. With both of the factors of safety and ranking, Scott and I will need to do some reading in our Goat Book For Dummies (a totally awesome Goat Bible!). What I do know is that bucks are not for beginner owners, and horned ones are highly inadvisable as well, so we need to get them neutered asap. As far as I can see, the only thing on our side is that they're all kids and that our book has some tips from an experienced owner. The main thing she said though was do not get a buck!!!! Well, they won't be bucks for long at least ;). Anyway, I'll post pictures and videos on youtube tomorrow of our Nigerian Dwarves. If you'd like to see videos of Kimmie and Roger, I've posted two, here and here! You can also go to my channel here at ---> Amazing Pink Ballerina Mommy. Love, the Cutler's
