Yesterday was a lot of fun! Scott and I had to get the car serviced, so naturally, we went to the mall! It was a great way to pass time. All the stores were closed practically, but that didn't stop George from having a blast; he took full liberty of running down the corridors and around the closed carrousel! Daddy did have to hold him tight as we passed the Disney store though! We've been here recently and the pictures you are seeing are from our last amazing trip to the mall from last weekend. George's absolute favorites at this mall are, as you can see, the Disney store and as well the marvelous two level carrousel (have you ever seen a two level carrousel?!). He loves free roaming but only gets more of a fill when daddy comes. At this point in pregnancy, every time I bend over to stop him I get contractions, so he doesn't get free run with me (though he does get his favorite $5 rental car stroller).
George also loves Family Rooms at malls that have them. We had a nice break from walking, before having to walk back to our car getting serviced, in the Family room. They don't have many toys, but their changing tables are amazing and have sinks right next to them and they always have a little TV with a children's movie on! The whole room had to be invented by a mother, unlike many clothes being sold for 2 year old boys today. A mom can tell wither a mom designed something or an executive at some company. The Fisher price puppy? A mom would know that babies first grab the nose, yet only the feet and hands and tummy are interactive on the stuffed animal geared for learning infants and toddlers. And why are there skulls and chains on 2 year old shirts in bright bold or darn black colors or sports images or monsters? My son can't even talk, why would I want to dress him up like a teenager? Soft blues, yellows and whites with cuddly animals depicting their innocence and cuteness, quilt patches, clothing layers, are all my type. A cute monster is ok to depict their natural tendency to wreck havoc on the world, but they do it in innocence, not to bring on the forces of darkness and to enslave the world! We need to encourage peace and love, not gang violence! Give me clothes fitting for a two year old, not a gangster! I'm raising him to uplift America, not bring it down!
Anyway, later, George and I had our visit with "Nana and doggies" and George was very excited. He never seems to get enough of being pounced on by Bella and purposely lies on the ground to get covered in kisses and jumped all over by the little Tea Cup Yorkie. I'd worry more if it was another dog, but Izzie (her name is Isabella) is all kisses unless there's food involved. Knowing the dog personally is essential and never trust the owner full heartedly because they get off easy if their dog acts abnormally to you or your kids, you or your kids don't, so know the dog! Being comfortable is important, if you're not comfortable, keep your kids away or you're vibrations can cause the dog to act abnormally, dogs are very sensitive. Anyway, many dogs are great, but knowing the dog is important before letting them get too cozy (jumping all over and getting in your kids face) with your child! Anyway, Ill stop with dog education!
After George had a blast playing with the dogs, we headed to the mall with Nana, and this time rented a go-cart stroller for George. To our delight, he fell asleep for about an hour comfortably with some head support and we were able to get some laptop research done at the Apple and Microsoft store! With good research I found out which was my preferred computer and am happy to say I bought a "souped up" one (as Scott called it) refurbished online. My Sweetheart helped me know which one was the greatest choice spec wise, since I had no clue, and I used my "which one looks and feels" right intuition. Talk about integrating Martian and Venetian values! We got a Macbook Pro and I'm pretty excited! Photoshop and visual design is going to be heaven on this computer, as well as surfing on the web! ;) Too bad George will never be aloud to touch it, but that means it just may see to live till his teenage days or possibly longer if the screens life is lives that long.
