There's actually more to Twentynine Palms than meets the eye. There's long rich history of Pioneers, gold mining, Indians, and it's rich in liberal arts! Twentynine Palms is also home to the largest Marine Corps base in the world! It's also the gateway to many famous desert destinations like, the Mojave National Preserve, Kelso Dunes, Rout 66 and others. It's also the front door to Joshua Tree National Park (famous for the Joshua tree)! Festivals are held here different times of the year and there's many things for locals to do here, from the community theatre and outdoor movies, to museums and shops. There's also a great park for children called Luckie Park with it's recreation center too. For dancers, there is the local "Willow Tree Studios too, which also offers classes for children's and toddlers! :)
The main glory and beauty of Twentynine Palms though is the view of the desert at sunset; the grand view of the planes painted in pinks, yellows and orange in the coolness of the evening with the crickets starting to sing. Overall, that's the best thing, that beautiful view and being able to enjoy it without burning! Main thing is, that there's more than meets the eye at first glance, but you have to be willing to pause to see it ;) ...Or just be stuck here for a week. You can take your pick ;)
