Yesterday we decided to "venture out" without Scott and drop him off at work so we could take the car for the day. Our first stop was Sweet Berry Farm where we planned to go berry picking but the heat and humidity were just to much to go through with it. Instead of berry picking we decided to buy the most over priced ice cream I've ever bought in my life since it was made "in-house" by a "certain person" they rave about. The ice cream was worse than store bought a $6.50 for a container that fit in the palm of my hand, but the novelty of eating ice cream at Sweet Berry and the novelty of eating any ice cream at all in that heat almost made it worth the $6.50. After eating some ice cream inside, we decided to head outside and I let the kids run around the grassy fields and took some pictures of them on the broken down trackers. It was pretty fun while it lasted, but it wasn't long before George was asking to go back in the cool car. After getting in the car and driving a bit, we saw a play ground and decided to get out there (even though it was hot, fellow playmates are always worth it!). We were blessed with a sudden downpour of rain and enjoyed the coolness for a bit. After that, the day didn't go so well for us till we picked up Scott, so I spare you the details of that inbetween. Heat, myself alone with the kids in public, and other human beings don't seem to mix well we'll just say. I'm never going to be so bold again.
On the walk, George and Emilie made it a good ways into it before we had to turn around. On the way, George and Emilie decided to pick me flowers as well (Emilie pulling up by the roots though, lol), and in the end I had a beautiful little hand bouquet which I took a picture so I'd always have it with me. George and Emilie are so sweet and kind to me, I'm so blessed to have the sweetest kids ever!
Due to privacy reasons, I will write/publish a day behind schedule so you don’t know wither we’re home or not. Common safety in blogging.
Will fill you in on all the amazing stuff we see. :)
